中澳贸易发展潜力空前,由澳大利亚中国总商会墨尔本分会主办,中国银行联合主办的2024年澳中经济合作论坛更加引人瞩目。这一次盛会除了邀请众多行业精英、企业家、专家学者等外,也有诸多政要参与其中。

The Hon.Tim PALLAS MP, 

Treasurer of Victoria

Tim Pallas is the Treasurer of Victoria,Minister for Industrial Relations and Minister for Economic Growth.

He was elected to the Victorian Parliament in2006as the member for the seat of Werribee,in Melbourne’s west.

Tim previously served as Minister for Roads and Ports,and Major Projects.He was Minister for Resources in the Andrews Labor Government’s first term,overseeing significant growth in that sector.

As Treasurer,Tim just handed down his tenth Victorian Budget.As Minister for Economic Growth,Tim is passionate about Victoria’s trade,the state’s leading status in international education,and securing investment from innovative companies and parties.

Tim’s political career followed roles as Chief of Staff to Premier Steve Bracks and Assistant Secretary of the ACTU.He has served with the Firefighters Union and the Storemen and Packers Union.

He studied Arts/Law at Australian National University and still holds a legal practising certificate.He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is married with two children and is a passionate supporter of the Western Bulldogs,Melbourne Storm,Melbourne Victory and the Melbourne Vixens.

Mr.FANG Xinwen, 

Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China 

in Melbourne

Mr.FANG Xinwen,Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne,was born in February1972,and graduated in July1994from Sichuan Foreign Languages Institute with a B.A.degree,majoring in English.

Since joining in the foreign service in August1994,he worked In the headquarter in different departments,covering translation and interpretation,personnel,training,Asian affairs,etc..In overseas posting,he worked in the Chinese Embassy in Malta,Timor-Leste,Brunei and Singapore.He held senior posts as Political Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission both in Timor-Leste and Brunei,Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission in Singapore,Assistant Director-General of Asian Department of the Foreign Ministry,and Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

He was appointed Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne in January2024.

Mr.FANG Xinwen was married,with Mrs.Hui Zeng.

Mr.John PESUTTO, 

Liberal Leader of the Victorian Opposition

John Pesutto is the Liberal Leader of the Victorian Opposition,the Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs and the Member for Hawthorn.

John has an extensive record of service in government,public policy and in the Hawthorn community.Most recently,prior to re-entering Parliament,John operated his own consultancy advising government departments and public sector agencies on governance,integrity and performance issues.He was also Senior Fellow at Melbourne University’s School of Government and regularly appeared on TV,radio and was a fortnightly columnist for The Age.

From2014to2018,John was Victoria’s Shadow Attorney General and the Member for Hawthorn in the Victorian Parliament.Prior to entering politics,John worked as Counsel to Premier Denis Napthine,Chief of Staff to the Health Minister and as a Senior Advisor to Premier Ted Baillieu.

As a lawyer(graduating from the University of Melbourne in1994with commerce and law degrees),John spent many years in private legal practice with a focus on industrial relations and employment matters.

John,his wife Betty and their three daughters have been part of the Hawthorn community for over20years.

Cr Nicholas REECE, 

Deputy Lord Mayor of the City of Melbourne

Cr Nicholas Reece was elected Deputy Lord Mayor in November2020,after having previously been elected Councillor in the City of Melbourne in2016.

Nick is portfolio lead for City Planning and deputy lead for Finance,Governance and Risk and Heritage portfolios.

Nick is also Council’s representative on the following committees and bodies:Committee for Melbourne,Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute Advisory Board.

Nick is a senior executive at the University of Melbourne and holds the academic position of principal fellow at the Melbourne School of Government.

Nick has considerable experience in government and policymaking,having worked as a senior adviser to Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Victorian premiers Steve Bracks and John Brumby.Nick has also served as Secretary of the Australian Labor Party in Victoria.

Nick is a founder and former chairman of global men’s health charity Movember.Founded in Melbourne,almost10million people have participated in Movember and raised almost(AUD)$1.5billion for prostate cancer and men’s mental health.For over10years,Nick was a director for the street newspaper The Big Issue,Australia’s most successful social enterprise for homeless and marginalised people.

Nick is married and has three daughters who attend school in Melbourne.

The Hon.John BRUMBY AO, 

Former Premier of Victoria

The Hon.John Brumby AO is Chancellor of La Trobe University and a Professor(Honorary)at the University of Melbourne.He is well known for his roles as former Premier of Victoria(2007to2010)and Treasurer(2000to2007),as well as his time in Federal Parliament(1983to1990)during the Hawke Government.

Since retiring from politics in2010,John Brumby has taken on a number of roles in the not-for-profit and business sectors.He is the inaugural Chair of the Victorian Government's$2billion Breakthrough Victoria Fund.

In Government,Mr Brumby was a champion of building stronger Victoria and China relations,leading numerous delegations as well as opening Victoria’s first China trade and investment office in Shanghai.Following on from his time in Government,Mr Brumby was National President of the Australia China Business Council between2013and2018.

Dr.Geoff RABY AO, 

Former Ambassador of Australia 

to the People's Republic of China

Geoff Raby was Australia’s Ambassador to China from2007-11,during which he visited all provinces in China officially.He served in Beijing as First Secretary(Economic)and then Counsellor(Economic),1986-91.He was Ambassador to the WTO in Geneva,Ambassador to APEC,and Deputy Secretary,2003-07.He is a non-executive independent director of ASX listed-companies Yancoal and sits on the Board of the Gavan Foundaton.

His most recent book is China’s Grand Strategy and Australia’s Future in the World Order(MUP Nov2020).He contributes op eds and travel writing to the Australian Financial Review.He holds a PhD in economics.He was awarded the Order of Australia(AO)in June2019for services to Australia-China bilateral relations and to multilateral trade.

Maria Silos is a Senior Executive and Business Leader in Geopolitics,Government and Corporate Affairs,International Relations and Foreign Affairs,International Trade,Strategy,Economics,Legislation,AI and Deep Tech,China and Asia Pacific.

Maria Silos is BYD’s Director of Public Relations and Marketing with responsibility for BYD’s public affairs engagement in Australia and New Zealand.

A seasoned communicator,influencer and strategic negotiator with a unique professional experience,Maria has worked for DiDi the world’s leading mobility technology platform,New South Wales Members of Parliament The Hon Dr Gordon Moyes MLC AC,NSW Senator and The Hon Troy Grant MP,NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment,a Global Commentator on Emerging Markets David Thomas,United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Australia His Excellency Ali Al Nuaimi,a global asset manager ING Investment Management,and one of Australia’s oldest and prominent think tank CEDA-the Committee for Economic Development of Australia.

Maria Silos holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences with a double major in Political Economy and Middle Eastern Studies(Awarded with Merit),a Master of International Studies,a Master of International Law all from The University of Sydney and was awarded a scholarship by China's Ministry of Education to study Mandarin and Chinese Studies at Fudan University,Shanghai.

Mr.Domenic CAPOMOLLA, 

Chief Executive Officer, 

Pacific Blue

Domenic assumed the role of Interim CEO in late December2021and was appointed permanent CEO in March2022.

With a history of starting and operating energy retailers in Australia and Asia,Domenic has held chief executive and senior executive roles with Sumo Power,where he was a founder,Alinta Energy,Simply Energy/International Power and Sembcorp Power(Singapore)spanning20years.He has established a reputation for taking start-up energy retailers and growing them into established,high-performing,profitable and customer focussed businesses.Domenic has formal tertiary qualifications in Mathematics and Applied Finance.

Prior to his appointment as Pacific Blue's CEO,Domenic was CEO of Tango Energy,Pacific Blue's retail arm,since2018.Since its launch in2016,Tango Energy has established itself as one of the fastest-growing electricity retailers in Australia and has won a number of consumer awards,including the most recent Canstar Blue awards for Most Trusted Electricity Provider–National2024,Most Satisfied Customers Dual Fuel–National2024,Most Satisfied Customers Electricity–VIC2023,Most Satisfied Customers Gas–VIC2023.

Dr.Fiona SIMON,

Australian Hydrogen Council

Fiona Simon is the CEO of the Australian Hydrogen Council(AHC),the peak body for the Australian hydrogen industry.

AHC connects the hydrogen industry and its stakeholders in building a secure,clean and resilient energy future that sustainably produces and uses hydrogen within the energy mix.AHC’s members are from a range of sectors,including energy,transport,consulting,banking and technology.

Prior to joining the Australian Hydrogen Council,Fiona worked for close to20years in energy policy and regulation,specialising in energy retail competition and consumer protection matters.

Fiona holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Melbourne.She has published a well-regarded academic book on retail energy regulation in Australia.

Mr.Jeff MCCORMACK,

Jeffrey joined Treasury Wine Estates in2021and was appointed at the Global Director of Public Affairs.With over10years’experience in both State and Federal Government as a Senior Adviser and Chief of Staff,Jeffrey brings unique insights in the development of trade,agriculture,water and regional development public policy.

In his role at Treasury Wine Estates,Jeffrey has global oversight of all government and industry relations,with key team members in Australia and New Zealand,the United Kingdom,China,and the United States.Jeffrey also sits on the Australian Grape&Wine Executive Council,Wine New South Wales,and Wine Victoria.As well as being actively engaged with TWE’s trade industry associations.
